<< Sessions 1 & 2 Session 5 >>
Session 3 – One Week Later
Feedback From the Previous Week
Following the second Spinal Touch session, the client reported feeling better overall, “more with it” and less brain fog. While the right hip continued to cause some discomfort, she noted that it was less problematic than in previous weeks.
A significant change reported this week was an increase in energy levels. The client shared that she had not needed to sleep during the day at all, which marked a clear shift from her usual pattern of fatigue.
She also reported a continued reduction in pain medication, no longer needing to take Cocodamol during the middle of the day.
In addition, the client noted an important functional improvement: she was now able to lie on her right side to sleep at night, something she had been unable to do for some time due to hip pain.
Markers Before Treatment – Session 3
The following markers were recorded prior to the third Spinal Touch session:
| Fibromyalgia pain (widespread) | 5/10 (a drop of 2 points since session 1) |
| Bursitis / right hip pain | 5/10 (a drop of 5 points since session 1) |
| Fatigue and tiredness | 2/10 (a drop of 4 points since session 1) |
| Brain Fog | Not specifically reported before session 3 |
| Pain medication usage | Morning: 2 × Cocodamol 350mg and 1 × Naproxen 500mg, Evening: 2 × Cocodamol 350mg and 1 × Naproxen 500mg Total daily pain medication: 6 tablets – (maintaining a 2 tablet drop since session 1) |
Alignment Before Treatment – Session 3
Posterior (Back) View
From the back, the drift from the plumb line remained reduced, measuring between 1/4” and 1/2” on the right side. This indicates that the earlier improvements in alignment were largely being maintained, though some residual postural deviation was still present.
The right hip was observed to be anterior, suggesting continued pelvic patterning on this side.
Side View
From the side, the sacral tilt showed a slight improvement, with a subtle increase towards its natural position. However, the sacrum remained largely flat, reflecting the depth and chronic nature of the client’s postural patterns. These gentle changes are often indicative of early nervous system settling rather than visible postural reorganisation.
Supine (Lying) Observation
When lying on the treatment couch, leg length remained equal
Alignment After Treatment – Session 3
Posterior (Back) View
Following the third Spinal Touch session, the drift from the plumb line corrected, indicating an improvement in overall postural balance. The right hip remained anterior, showing that pelvic patterning on this side was still present.
Side View
From the side, some improvement in vertical lift was observed, with the clients body moving back behind the plumb-line. However, the client continued to require significant encouragement of lift, suggesting that sustained postural support is still developing. A small improvement in sacral tilt was noted, with the sacrum beginning to move towards its natural position. Despite this change, the tilt still required gentle encouragement, reflecting the depth and chronic nature of this pattern.
Supine (Lying) Observation
When lying on the treatment couch, leg length remained equal, consistent with all previous sessions and reinforcing that the alignment changes observed are functional and responsive, rather than structural.
Additional Treatment Focus – Session 3
Alongside the Spinal Touch work, gentle stretches and releases were used to support movement through the hips.
Further gentle trigger point release was applied along the right vastus lateralis, piriformis, and gluteal muscles. The approach remained slow and gentle, allowing the tissues to soften without provoking protective responses.
This additional work aimed to support ease of movement around the hip and pelvis while continuing to reinforce nervous system safety and integration.
Spinal Touch Markers Snapshot – Comparing Session 1 and Session 3
| Session 1 | Session 3 | |
| Fibromyalgia pain (widespread) | 7/10 | 5/10 (a 2 point drop) |
| Bursitis / right hip pain | 10/10 | 5/10 (a 5 point drop) |
| Fatigue and tiredness | 6/10 | 2/10 (a 4 point drop) |
| Medication Use | 8 pain-relief tablets per day | 6 pain-relief tablets per day (No longer requiring midday Cocodamol) |
| Daily Function | Required a walking stick; difficulty sleeping due to hip pain; brain fog present | Improved energy; no daytime sleep needed; able to lie on the right side at night; feeling much more clear-headed with a noticeable reduction in brain fog |
Session 3 – Reflection
By the third Spinal Touch session, the client was showing clear functional improvements alongside ongoing postural integration. Reductions in widespread pain, hip discomfort, fatigue, and reliance on pain medication were accompanied by improvements in energy, sleep quality, and cognitive clarity.
Alignment changes observed during this session, including correction of drift and emerging improvements in lift and sacral tilt, suggest that the nervous system is continuing to respond and adapt. While some pelvic patterning remains present, the client’s ability to maintain changes between sessions indicates growing stability within the system.
In cases involving long-standing chronic pain, stress, and caregiving responsibilities, progress often unfolds gradually. These early changes reflect a body that is beginning to feel safer, allowing protective patterns to soften and greater ease to emerge over time.
Session 4 – One week later
Feedback from the previous week
On arrival, the client was still using her walking stick; however, she appeared noticeably more upright, and her movement through reception looked easier and more fluid compared to previous sessions.
She reported being able to sleep on her right side for an entire night, which marked a further improvement in comfort and tolerance through the hip. In addition, she shared that on one evening during the past week she did not take any pain medication at all, something she had not been able to do previously.
These changes suggest ongoing improvements in posture, comfort, and day-to-day function, alongside a growing sense of ease within the body.
Markers Before Treatment – Session 4
| Fibromyalgia pain (widespread) | 5/10 |
| Fatigue and tiredness | 1/10 (No daytime sleep required) |
| Right hip / bursitis pain | 4/10 (Described as manageable and less painful than a recent bruise on the shin) |
| Cognitive symptoms (brain fog) | 2/10 |
| Pain medication usage | Generally 6 tablets per day, (consistent with the previous two sessions. The client also reported one evening during the past week without taking any pain medication). |
Alignment Before Treatment – Session 4
Posterior (Back) View
On observation from the back, the drift from the plumb line was corrected, indicating that the postural changes achieved in earlier sessions were being maintained.
The right hip remained anterior, showing that some pelvic patterning was still present and would continue to be gently supported.
Side View
From the side, the client’s vertical lift was corrected, with the plumb line now passing through the centre of the hip. The client appeared much more upright, reflecting improved postural support and ease.
The sacral tilt continued to require maximum encouragement, indicating a deeper pattern that had not yet fully stabilised.
Supine (Lying) Observation
When lying on the treatment couch, leg length remained equal, consistent with all previous sessions
Alignment After Treatment – Session 4
Posterior (Back) View
Following the fourth Spinal Touch session, the drift from the plumb line remained corrected, indicating continued stability in overall postural balance. The right hip remained anterior, although it appeared slightly improved compared to earlier sessions, suggesting gradual pelvic reorganisation.
Side View
From the side, the vertical lift remained corrected, supporting the client’s more upright posture and ease of movement. The sacral tilt continued to require maximum encouragement, reflecting a deeper postural pattern that will continue to be supported gently over time.
Supine (Lying) Observation
When lying on the treatment couch, leg length remained equal, consistent with all previous sessions.
Additional Treatment Focus – Session 4
Alongside the Spinal Touch work, further gentle releases were applied to the psoas and gluteal muscles, with additional trigger point release around the gluteal area near the sacrum. The work remained slow and non-invasive, supporting the nervous system while allowing the tissues to respond naturally.
During this session, there was noticeably increased movement through the hips, alongside improved rotation of the legs. These changes suggest a reduction in muscular holding through the gluteal and psoas muscles, allowing greater freedom of movement around the pelvis.
| Session 1 | Session 4 | |
| Fibromyalgia pain (widespread) | 7/10 | 5/10 |
| Right hip / bursitis pain | 10/10 | 4/10 (Now described as manageable) |
| Fatigue and tiredness: Session | 6/10 | 1/10 (No daytime sleep required) |
| Brain fog | Present | 2/10 (Feeling much clearer-headed) |
| Medication Use | 8 pain-relief tablets per day | Generally 6 tablets per day (Over the last week one full evening without any pain medication) |
Session 1:
Required a walking stick; significant sleep disturbance; high pain levels; brain fog present; unable to work
Session 4:
Still using a walking stick but more upright with easier movement; sleeping on the right side; improved energy; clearer thinking; reduced reliance on pain medication
Conclusion So Far – Sessions 1 to 4
Over the course of four Spinal Touch sessions, this client has shown steady and meaningful changes across pain levels, energy, posture, movement, and day-to-day functioning.
While living with long-standing Fibromyalgia, right hip bursitis, and chronic stress, early sessions focused on supporting the nervous system to feel safe enough to begin releasing long-held protective patterns. Rather than immediate correction, progress initially appeared through relaxation, postural organisation, and reduced reliance on pain medication.
By Sessions 3 and 4, changes became more clearly established. The client reported reduced widespread pain and hip discomfort, significant improvements in fatigue and energy, clearer thinking with reduced brain fog, and improved sleep, including the ability to lie comfortably on the affected side. These functional improvements were accompanied by visible changes in posture, including maintained correction of drift and lift, and increased ease of movement through the hips.
Some deeper patterns, particularly around pelvic positioning and sacral tilt, remain present and continue to require gentle support. This is expected in cases involving long-term pain and nervous system stress. Ongoing sessions will continue to focus on stabilising existing improvements, encouraging further integration, and observing whether changes continue to “stick” over time.
Overall, the progress seen so far suggests that Spinal Touch is providing meaningful support to the nervous system, allowing the body to move gradually towards greater ease, balance, and resilience.
